IzolaChristmas_Blog

This Izola bag of goodies is insane. It’s got just about everything a man needs, and some things a woman would want him to have (or keep for herself). A 5oz flask + flask funnel (we’d hate for you to spill) + travel cup + tie clip + money clip + shoe horn . And of course, the pouch. Well, what are you waiting for?

  • Comment on this post and tell us the best cocktail you had this year (at home or at a bar).
  • If you share the recipe, your entry will be counted three times! That’s right.

A winner will be chosen at random and announced on Christmas Eve!

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED! CONGRATULATIONS TO ANDY HEWITT FOR WINNING!

.75 oz Noilly Prat Rouge Vermouth
    1 tsp Bénédictine
    2 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters

Oh, my favorite drink to make at home to impress my friends (and myself): Earl Grey MarTEAni. Yum.

    INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 ounces Earl Gray Gin Infusion (375ml bottle of Tanqueray, and 3/4 ounces (or 1 1/2 Tbs) of tea — Add tea leaves to the bottle of gin. Replace cap and shake well. Allow the tea to steep in the gin for 2 hours; strain gently to remove the tea leaves. Do not press the tea leaves to extract excess gin — this can make the infusion bitter.)
    3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
    1 ounce simple syrup
    1 egg white
    1 lemon twist, for garnish
    Lemon Zest Sugar, for garnish

    INSTRUCTIONS:
Fill a cocktail shaker two-thirds full of ice and add the gin infusion, lemon juice, simple syrup and egg white. Shake for approximately 15 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass rimmed with the Lemon Zest Sugar. Add the twist.

    Enjoy & Impress!

“Southern Belle” — A friend made it on vacation, but I couldn’t replicate it just right at home. Turns out, she found it on Pinterest, so that’s where the recipe is from. It was damn good, though.

    Ingredients:
    1 1/2 oz. American whiskey
    1/2 oz. Campari
    1 oz. Pineapple Juice
    1/4 oz. Strawberry Syrup
    4 Dashes Peach Bitters

    Instructions:
    – Muddle one half of a strawberry with the bitters in the bottom of a double old-fashioned glass and add one large sphere of ice.
    – Shake the remaining ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into the glass.
    – Garnish with a large strawberry and generous sprig of mint.

Note: to make the strawberry syrup, dissolve 1 cup sugar into 1 cup water over high heat, add 4 diced strawberries to the pot and simmer on low until the mixture coats the back of a spoon. Let the syrup cool and then strain into a small decanter.
